I want to thank all of you who wished me a happy birthday today, it has been a difficult evening but all of your love and support has meant a lot to me. My heart will be with those near Moore, Oklahoma and all of those affected by today’s and yesterday’s severe weather. When disasters such as this happen, we must all come together as a people and join hands to help those involved and to mourn those we have lost. Sadly, tonight there are 51 people dead including 20 children, and that number will rise by morning. Let us learn from this catastrophe, let those lost serve as a reminder of Mother Nature’s power, and let this heartbreak serve as a lesson: ALWAYS take each day to live, love and accomplish your dreams because you may not get another chance. Much love! — Richard Kenneth Brannon III (via richardbrannon)
On days like today, it is extremely difficult to be in the news media. Having to report the deaths of 30 elementary school students and dozens of others is one of the most emotional and devastating things. Having to see catastrophic destruction caused by tonight’s tornado has already taken its toll on rescue workers, first responders, reporters and survivors, and will not get any less heartbreaking in the coming days. My heart goes out to all of those affected by this evening’s disaster. Today will be a day none of us forget. We can only hope that this can bring about change which will save lives in the future. — Richard Kenneth Brannon III (via richardbrannon)
Anonymous asked: Happy date of birth and thanks for not going to a restaurant and having some waiters, like myself, sing some cheesy song to you :)
Thank You very much! Today is also my sister’s 21st birthday so the family is taking her to dinner but I am covering these tornadoes in Oklahoma.
Anonymous asked: oh naww you should celebrate!! go buy yourself cake or something. And Happy Birthday!! I love you Richard.
LOLOL, Richard is boring, he is celebrating his birthday by monitoring the weather, looking through archives and researching. Party of one! Thank You though!

Anonymous asked: Today is your birthday? If it is today... Happy Birthday sweetie! Hahaha
Thank You dear, I suppose it is but I don’t really celebrate birthdays.
Anonymous asked: If you don't believe in GOD, you don't believe in heaven? Where do you think Ryan is?
I would love nothing more than to believe Ryan was in some eternal paradise with his family, but the harsh truth is: Ryan is dead. Ryan is nothing but memories now. He made the choice to kill himself and as much as it hurts, he is gone. I can’t bring him back and it would be foolish of me to think I can ever see him again. All I can do is try and live my life in a way that would make his memory proud and live out some of the dreams we shared.
Anyways, Ryan was an Atheist, he didn’t care about what happens after death, he wanted to do as much here on Earth to help people as he could. Stop trying to use Ryan as a ploy to make me believe in your religion, it hasn’t worked for two years and it certainly won’t work now.
Anonymous asked: I see the bashing Christians are at it again. For religious people they sure have a lot of hate, judgment and condemnation it's hilarious. I now follow the teachings of Buddha, and since I stopped with the one almighty powerful god thing I have been so much happier, 'AND LESS JUDGMENTAL' of other human beings. IF there is a god somewhere then I think he must be pretty upset at their attitude to other human beings, where is the love that was so spoken about by Jesus? conveniently forgot!!!!!!!!
Believe it or not, there was a time where I thought about Buddhism. It is not even a religion because you do not technically worship a god.
The simple truth is that Christianity and any other one of the main religions such as Islam or Judaism are the main causes of divide in this world and I do not want to be a part of that. I don’t look at my fellow man as different due to the colour of their skin, so why should I care what they believe happens when you die? It is a matter of opinion and it should be a personal thing. It should be private like your sex life - it doesn’t need to be advertised and shoved down people’s throats (Irony). All of the Christians who flash crosses around and are in the church every time the doors are open are actually worshiping a false idol and churches who collect money should be shunned (You shouldn’t get payed for teaching the word of God, Jesus flipped a table for that) and of course, don’t forget that every time you see someone wealthy who gives credit to god, they are basically condemning themselves to hell because if I remember correctly, the Bible states: It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to entre the gates of heaven. In other words: WHO CARES? Live your life for your fellow man, do good onto them because that is what is RIGHT, not because a book tells you to!
“At last
My love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
At last
The skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clover
The night I looked at you
I found a dream, that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
You smiled,
And then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
for you are mine…
At Last”
Anonymous asked: If you don't believe in heaven or hell, what is your motivation to do good in your life? Don't you fear going to hell for eternity?
I don’t fear hell because I don’t believe in hell. The worst “Hell” I can imagine is the terrible disasters, crimes and wars that happen abroad daily. My motivation to do good and help others is not from a religious source, it is from my heart, it is my values and morals instilled in me by my mother, Ryan, and a few good friends. Just because I am an Atheist does not mean I want to do bad, look at it this way, Have you ever seen a terrorist attack committed by an Atheist because of his will to do away with religion?… I have seen countless terrorist attacks by religious extremists.
Anonymous asked: So how was your birthday?

What is this day of birth which you speak of?
Anonymous asked: Hey okay, so i was just jumping around and saw that last message you got, and i was utterly disgusted. I'm Christian and I'm bisexual. I just want to apologize for the people whom i share some beliefs with that does not know what is right or wrong. Marriage is a beautiful thing between two people, and the only thing that matters is that they love each other, not how they look or what they are. God created us as who we are, and apparently he created a bastard when he created said so person. Sorry
See, THESE are the Christians I like! I hope you have a wonderful weekend my dear!
Anonymous asked: I love you. You've shown self control and sanity amidst these disgusting anons and I fucking love you for it.

Aww, Thank You! I figure responding in a snarky yet logical way is the only way to deal with ignorance. Plus is is kind of fun!
Anonymous asked: WTF ARE YOU A MUSLIM?
Nope, I am something even more scary… I am a peace loving, Atheist who thinks the purpose of life is to help and advance your fellow man - not get into the good graces of an invisible skygod. This is of course meant with no disrespect towards most religious people. For us, it is just a difference of opinion, but for these hateful anons, it is their ignorance that needs to be shut down before it becomes extremism.
