HAPPY NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY Today, 11 October 2012, is the day we celebrate those who are out as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and many other sexualities, who stand as pillars in LGBT community. Those people who risk their reputation, jobs, family and sometimes even their lives to say “Yes I am Gay and I am not ashamed!” stand up to the hatred and show children, teens, young adults and even people into their adulthood that being a member of the LGBT world is something special and that there is hope for a better, more tolerant future. Today we thank those who show us that the bullying, the hate, the ignorance and the threats should not be the end of our dreams, they show us we must continue the fight on for our rights, for our families and for our future. Today, we send a strong message to those LGBT members who are still in the closet, hiding who they are. We hold out our hands and tell them that if they ever need help, we will gladly do whatever we can. We understand the pain and the confusion, but you are never alone!
Today, we celebrate a milestone for the LGBT community, on this day in 1987, the second National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights took place and showed that we will not back down. This is often known as the “Great March.”
Lastly, today we send an even stronger message to the homophobic community, we will not give in to the disgusting hatred and intolerance we face daily. We will battle on until equality is a reality and until every young Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender understands that this life is worth living, that giving up is not an option and that we will rise above!
To all of my friends and family who are LGBT, remember that we are not just fighting for ourselves, we are fighting for the young man in New York who is scared to admit his love, the young girl from California who feels she was born the wrong gender, the young girl in Alabama who cannot hold the hand of her lover in public and for the family in Florida who cannot seal their love officially because of the law. I am so proud of all of you. Much Love and stay strong!

This must end! We have lost too many good young men and women simply because they were bullied for being Homosexual, Transgender or other reasons. No one deserves this hell and I refuse to stand idle while others are bullied, self harmed or

face the thought of suicide. There are many reasons bullying exists but together, we can end it.

If you are in this position, PLEASE do not hesitate to get help. I am here for you and so are many others. Do not give up hope. ♥ I love you and stay strong ♥

GAY TEEN COMMITS SUICIDE I am very sad to report that tragically, another gay teenager has taken his life because of homophobia. 16-year old Brandon Elizares from El Paso, Texas was found dead by his family on June 02, 2012. According to the family, peers have threatened to stab and light Brandon on fire simply because he was homosexual. The mother of this young man says next week, students planned to beat up the teen. It is such a shame to see another life cut short because of this ignorance! When will people learn? When will people finally stop the hate? The LGBT community is in mourning today after the loss of another bright young man. ♥ R.I.P. Brandon Elizares ♥

Me and Tyler on Day of Silence.

R.I.P. Kenneth James Weishuhn 14 year old Kenneth Weishuhn, took his life Saturday, April 14, 2012 because he was bullied for being gay. This is tragic and I am so sorry to hear such a bright, caring boy gave up. You will be dearly missed and you will never be forgotten! When will people learn that your words and actions toward young gay people have a huge effect on them? HOW MANY MORE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE THE POINT IS MADE CLEAR? Friday, as we remain silent for Day of Silence, please remember this amazing young man!

Please join us on April 20, 2012 in supporting the LGBT comunity and remembering all those lost to homophobia. We will be taking a vow of silence and wearing outfits showing support or pride on this day. Last year we had more than a dozen people participate and while that may not seem like many, it was a huge moment for LGBT students at our school. Thank you to those who helped out last year and I cannot wait to see all the purple and rainbows this year.
